Gian Paolo Dallara, the young talent

At the time of the Miura, Dallara was head of the technical department. He has been with Lamborghini since 1963, i.e. since they opened in Sant’Agata Bolognese. Ferruccio himself wanted him right from the start: the engineer from Parma was only 27 years old when he joined the Casa del Toro, but he had already worked at Maserati and Ferrari. And at Lamborghini, his talents blossomed: in fact, the first car – the 350 GT – already bore his signature. Dallara would remain at Sant’Agata until 1968 before accepting a position in F1 and F2. Nearly sixty years after its design, Gian Paolo Dallara remains so fond of the Miura that he gave himself a white P400 for his 80th birthday, in 2016. ‘The Miura represents an incredible moment in my life,’ the Ingegnere recalled. “Seeing it as it was then and so perfectly restored only serves to consolidate the place that this model has won in our hearts, and in automotive history.”
